The Hero Project

On our first day, we left Sage around 8:20 and arrived at the Volunteer Office at the VA around 9:00. We then checked in with the volunteer office, where we then got our badges from the VA police, and met back the the Volunteering office. We then went into the hospital where the rest of the volunteers wait around until there is something to do. Most of our job requires us to either be blockers for other volunteers, or to bring different patients to different parts of the hospital.

As a group we arrived at the VA Hospital around 9:00. When we got there, we all had to get our new badges from the VA Security office. Once we got our badges, we reported to the volunteering office, and spent the rest of the time until noon, volunteering. Like the last time, most of the volunteering we do, is pushing patients on wheelchairs from one part of the hospital to the other. While waiting for a task to be done, we wait at the volunteering waiting room, where we talk with other volunteers, who most are veterans themselves. Our plans for the future are to continue to volunteer at the VA Hospital.
